Outward Bound, Forest School and Wilderness Days.

We have ‘Outward Bound Days’ where we discover the hills and fields in the surrounding area and attend our Forest school. We may also visit the beach or go on long walks. We pride ourselves on our outdoor experiences and have our own forest school.

What is so special about our Outward Bound days is that the children get to explore their outdoor environment, become familiar with nature and use natural resources. Outdoor learning and Forest schools come from the Scandinavian education system and is about children building self esteem and independence through exploring and experiencing the natural world. We explore a mixture of skills such as team building activities of building shelters, knot tying, hunting for mini beasts, making mud sculptures and using tools.

Sessions are well planned around the individual needs of the children attending this group.

Learning outside supports the holistic development of the child.

Forest School Gallery

We’re very proud of our Forest School, here are a few pictures of children having fun! If your child attends our Forest school days they will need to be dropped off in the Forest school wear. This will consist of lots of layers, waterproof trousers, jackets and suitable footwear. Children are not to wear sandals, dresses or have bare arms or legs.
